The Hall Method: Start your day with the Hall Method’s ball, foam roller and signature Therabarre classes. Take your technique and conditioning to the next level and get the benefit of Pilates cross training without leaving the dance studio. The Hall Method is a unique muscle conditioning program reconfiguring classic pilates reformer exercises to standing exercises utilizing therabands, allowing dancers to get the benefit of Pilates cross training, in the dance studio. Enhance your performance, achieve new levels of core stability, strength, and flexibility. The Hall Method supports aspiring and professional dancers so they stay strong, injury free, and are ready for the demands of any style of dance.
Kai Hazelwood: Spend the afternoon in a choreographic workshop with Kai Hazelwood with live music. The workshop will also serve as an audition for future paid projects with Kai Hazelwood in LA and abroad. Kai will be returning from 3 weeks as a resident choreographer at Omi Dance International Dance Collective in New York and will be continuing to develop work she begins there. Over the course of 2 afternoons you will participate in a collaborative process to finish a new short piece. The work will be performed along side pieces from choreographers from across LA at the end of the second day as part of Dance in Progress, a new choreographers’ showcase. Expect a physical, highly collaborative process where you will be challenged to bring your own artistic voice, and dive deep into playful improvisational structures.
